Gretha Lindwood

Intrigued by the challenge of painting varied landscapes such as high desert plateaus, undulating fields of grass, ethereal clouds, and reflective water in a convincing manner, Gretha Lindwood has chosen the luminous pigments of soft pastels on artist sandpaper for her rich, colorful creations. An avid plein air painter, Gretha works in the traditional plein air style with impressionistic touches. Viewers often state, they "could walk into a Lindwood painting."

Gretha’s landscapes bring to mind the smell of sage after a rain in the high desert, the feel of soft mist from a foggy morning on your cheek, or the taste of a salty ocean breeze on your lips.

‘Crisp, refreshing, and vivid’ are the descriptive comments from her collectors. The use of vibrant color and strong design are hallmarks of her work developed during her career as an illustrator and graphic designer.

Lindwood has won awards and participated in juried shows, events and invitationals since 2004 in Oregon, California, Washington, Idaho and Florida. Her pastel workshops and classes fill quickly.
