Lane Hall lives in the Rogue River Valley of Southern Oregon. He received his Fine Arts Degree from Southern Oregon University and has earned the highest award of Diamond Membership in the Watercolor Society of OR and Signature Memberships in the National and American Watercolor Societies. He earned honors and awards at the AWS 149th International Exhibition in New York City, the NWS 95th International Exhibition in San Pedro, CA. His work is published in Southwest Art, Watercolor Artist, and North Light Books’ Strokes of Genius II: the Best of Drawing Light and Shadow.
In 2004 Lane decided to give art his full attention. Since then, he has added oil painting to his mediums, still maintaining the distinct style and look of his watercolors.
“Within all of the elements of art, my foundational aim is to achieve a balance of tightly and loosely rendered areas in a painting, sharing the emotion concurrent with my passion. I love the stark value contrasts and varying textures found in nature and endeavor to translate my unique interpretation for the viewer onto a two dimensional surface.”
